Expert Care Through a Multidisciplinary Team
At WMI Psychiatry, we believe that excellent mental healthcare comes from bringing together the right expertise.
Every person is different and no single clinician can be an expert in every aspect of healthcare. ADHD, autism and mental health conditions are often influenced by child development, physical health, emotional wellbeing, education, family circumstances and life experiences. Looking at these difficulties from only one perspective can sometimes mean that important information is overlooked.
That is why we have built a multidisciplinary clinical team.
By combining expertise from psychiatry, specialist ADHD services, paediatrics, general practice, hospital medicine and psychological therapy, we are able to consider each person's difficulties from multiple clinical perspectives. This collaborative approach helps us provide thorough assessments, accurate diagnoses and personalised treatment recommendations.
Above all, our shared goal is simple: to provide expert care with genuine compassion and understanding.
Clinical Leadership
WMI Psychiatry is led by Dr James Glass, Medical Director, and Caroline Lawrence, Registered Manager.
Together, they provide the clinical and operational leadership for the service, ensuring that every patient receives safe, compassionate and evidence-based care.
As Medical Director, Dr James Glass oversees the clinical standards of the clinic, providing psychiatric leadership and working closely with the multidisciplinary team to support high-quality assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning.
Caroline Lawrence is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with specialist expertise in ADHD and autism. As Registered Manager, she is responsible for ensuring that the service is safe, well organised and centred around the needs of our patients. She works closely with the clinical team to maintain the highest standards of care, quality and patient experience.
Different members of our multidisciplinary team contribute to different parts of the assessment process according to their individual expertise. This allows each clinician to focus on the areas in which they have the greatest experience while working together as one coordinated team.
Where appropriate, assessments and treatment recommendations are discussed within our multidisciplinary team. This collaborative approach helps ensure that important information is not overlooked and that patients benefit from a broad range of clinical expertise.
Specialist Expertise You Can Trust
Our clinical team includes experienced healthcare professionals from a range of specialist backgrounds, including:
Psychiatry
Specialist ADHD and Autism Nursing
Paediatrics
General Practice
Hospital Medicine
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Case Workers
Each member of our team has been selected not only for their professional qualifications and experience but also for their commitment to providing compassionate, respectful and person-centred care.
Rather than viewing difficulties through the lens of a single profession, our multidisciplinary approach allows us to bring together different perspectives to build a more complete understanding of each individual.
How We Work Together
Collaboration is central to the way we practise.
Many private clinics rely on a single clinician to complete every stage of an assessment. While this approach may be appropriate in some situations, we believe that patients often benefit from the combined knowledge and experience of a multidisciplinary team.
Our clinicians work closely together, sharing their expertise where appropriate and discussing complex presentations to ensure that important information is not missed. This collaborative approach promotes consistency, supports high clinical standards and helps us deliver thoughtful, balanced and evidence-based care.
Every member of our team works within their professional competencies, receives regular supervision and participates in ongoing professional development to ensure that our patients receive the highest possible standard of care.
Meet the Team
Our multidisciplinary team brings together professionals with expertise across psychiatry, ADHD, autism, child development, physical health and psychological therapies.
