Adult ADHD Assessment
Comprehensive Private ADHD Assessments for Adults
WMI Psychiatry provides private ADHD assessments for adults throughout the UK. Our comprehensive adult ADHD assessment pathway is designed to identify whether ADHD is present, understand how symptoms affect everyday life and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Many adults seek an assessment after years of struggling with concentration, organisation, procrastination, emotional regulation or feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities. Others may have recognised ADHD traits in themselves after a child, sibling or family member has been diagnosed.
Our assessments are completed by experienced ADHD clinicians and include developmental history, clinical assessment, diagnostic formulation, written reporting and treatment planning.
The assessment pathway is delivered across four appointments, allowing time for a thorough evaluation rather than a rushed one-off consultation. The total cost is £850, which is paid across the four appointments rather than as a single upfront fee.
What Is Included in an Adult ADHD Assessment?
Our private ADHD assessment pathway includes:
Detailed ADHD and General Mental Health assessment
Review of questionnaires and supporting information
Detailed developmental and risk history
Clinical observation
Multidisciplinary discussion
Medication discussion and initiation (if clinically indicated)
Signs of ADHD in Adults
ADHD can look very different in adulthood compared with childhood. Whilst some adults remain physically restless, many experience difficulties that are less obvious to others but still have a significant impact on daily life.
Common signs of ADHD in adults include:
Difficulty concentrating
Becoming easily distracted
Frequently losing or misplacing items
Forgetfulness
Problems with organisation and time management
Difficulty prioritising tasks
Procrastination
Starting projects but struggling to finish them
Restlessness or feeling constantly "on the go"
Impulsive decision-making
Interrupting conversations
Emotional dysregulation
Difficulties managing work, studies or relationships
Many of these experiences can occur in people without ADHD. A comprehensive assessment is therefore needed to determine whether symptoms are consistent with ADHD and whether they have been present since childhood.
